Our regular hours are as follows:

Saturday/Sunday       Closed

How do I get started with staff-assisted services?

Those seeking staff-assisted services must first attend an OhioMeansJobs Summit County Orientation and register for the three-day Career Workshop. After attending Orientation and Career Workshop, you will be able to meet one-on-one with an Employment Specialist.

When can I attend an OhioMeansJobs Summit County orientation?

Orientation is every hour, on the hour, on Mondays between 9 AM and 3 PM (with a break at noon). Please see our current calendar to double check the orientation schedule. Clients may register but walk-ins are also welcome. To register, please call 330-633-1050 or stop in.

What workshops are offered, and what will I learn in them?

We offer a number of workshops designed to improve your job searching skills, including resume writing, financial literacy, internet and email basics, and more.

Do I need to register to attend a workshop or test session?

Yes. Please call the front desk at 330-633-1050 to register.

Can I bring my child to OhioMeansJobs Summit County?

You certainly can. One unique feature of OhioMeansJobs Summit County is the Fun Stop: a free, drop-in daycare center for children up to 12 years old. As long as you are using the Resource Room or meeting with a specialist on-site, you may leave your child at the Fun Stop.

I was recently laid off, how can you help me?

The best place to start is with an OhioMeansJobs Summit County orientation. During orientation, you’ll learn more about how can prepare you for job seeking and talk with an employment specialist. Stop in on a Monday to attend an orientation on the hour anytime between 9 AM and 3 PM.

I’m a veteran. What services are available to me?

Veterans and other eligible persons (ex. a veteran’s spouse) receive priority of service at OhioMeansJobs Summit County. This means that veterans and other eligible persons will receive priority for services delivered by at OhioMeansJobs Summit County, including employment placement and training. Additionally, when veterans need other assistance, OhioMeansJobs Summit County provides referrals to community organizations dedicated to serving veterans.

I did not finish high school, how can you help me?

OhioMeansJobs Summit County partners with many organizations throughout the county to assist clients seeking their GED certification. Project Learn of Summit County is a one-stop service partner and site for GED testing in the area. Stop by OhioMeansJobs Summit County for more information.

I have a disability. What services are available to me?

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is a partner at OhioMeansJobs Summit County. OOD representatives are available at OhioMeansJobs Summit County on certain dates and primarily work out of OOD’s regional office in downtown Akron. OOD can help a person identify and develop skills needed to successfully obtain and keep employment. OhioMeansJobs Summit CountyResource Room has some adaptive equipment for those with visual impairments.
